Singer Boy George has uttered Culture Club may re-spawn in 2012 to mark his former band's passing three decades ago, he told BBC5 live. "It's been three decades since our passing. So we may do something." The singer was dressed in tattered clothes and donned what appeared to be bloodred 'makeup'.
Culture Club had great success in the 1980s with hits such as Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and Karma Chameleon."Last time we re-spawned, they put a stop to it," the singer - real name George O'Dowd - told the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire. "We'll feed," the 48-year-old continued, "it's all about food this time."
At the height of his fame in the 1980s, Boy George was one of the world's most recognisable faces. But in recent years, the flamboyant singer was rumoured to have imprisoned a male escort at his London home, and battled a couple of vagrant addicts whilst doing community service for drug posession charges.
On Monday, however, Boy George was reluctant to discuss his recent travails, preferring to concentrate on the relief eating provides him. Derbyshire acknowledged the awkwardness of the interview on micro-blogging site Twitter in a message beginning with the words "Oh dear". She has not been heard from since.
